adminpack install

I've installed the admin functions per
the README.adminpack under PostgreSQL 8.2.3's contrib/adminpack directory,
but PgAdmin (1.6.2) still says the functions are not installed on the server.
 This happens even after restarting both PostgreSQL and PgAdmin.

Any thoughts as to what I may be missing?
