Yes, auidemo works fine.

I look on source coud and problem is probably there (src/aui/dockart.cpp):

The GetSplitterParams in this case call 
wxRendererGeneric::GetSplitterParams instead
wxRendererGTK::GetSplitterParams. It should be some problem with correct 
virtual method lookup or wrong renderer setup?
